About Us

Our Values

As a genuine family run business, our attention is focused pretty much 24/7 on the job we love – keeping your boats in pristine condition. It’s a joy to see the sun shining on a gleaming hull after we’ve given it a good clean, knowing that just hours earlier it was looking the worse for wear.

We work hard to maintain very high standards both in the cleaning and valeting work that we carry out and also in our choice of staff. You will find them knowledgeable, polite and easy to talk to.

We rigorously maintain industry standards in our health and safety at work policies and our commitment to environmentally friendly and biodegradable products.

Throughout the years we have come to understand that no two boats are alike, and therefore we will usually visit every boat before providing a fixed priced quotation in as short a time as possible.

Whilst using state of the art products, we have some fairly old fashioned values – you will never be put on hold, you will always be called back if you leave a message, and advice plus friendly conversation is always free.

Meet The Team

John Stokes

DIRECTOR

The business began back in 1999 as a lifestyle change. Having successfully managed a large sales team for many years, John decided to use his acquired skills in a new personal adventure. GR Pro-Clean offered all the challenges any new business would attract and after many months of hard work, small initial shoots of success began to appear.

Whilst his role covers all aspects of managing the business, John's primary interest lies in the maintenance and development of the existing, excellent client base. Having been a long-standing boat owner himself, starting with a 55ft narrowboat called Libertas, John is passionately aware of the needs of the boating fraternity and fully understands the immeasurable value of good quality, long term relationships with both the trade and boat owners alike.

The industry is much like a village community. We have had so much help and support over the years, it’s very important that we reciprocate as much as possible.

Chris Stokes

DIRECTOR

Chris has been involved with the business since he was just 14 years old and subsequently joined full time at 19. He was appointed director at 22 and is now responsible for most of the day-to-day activity and ultimately will move into the role of MD over the next few years.

Chris’s experience is based on grassroots learning. He has been involved in all aspects of product and service development and is fully qualified and able to give good and in-depth advice in all aspects of the business. You are just as likely to see him machine polishing in the morning as having a business meeting in the afternoon!
